Joel Henry Bio
Joel Henry has spent more than a decade establishing himself as one of the world’s most accomplished professional dunkers. Known throughout the dunking community as The Royal Guard, Henry has built a career defined by fearless competition, explosive athleticism, and an unwavering desire to prove himself against the very best. Wherever elite dunkers gather, Henry has never shied away from the challenge.
Born in London, England, Henry threw down his first dunk at 16 while attending secondary school. His first memorable in-game dunk came on a fast break as a one-foot jumper. What began as a fascination with jumping became a lifelong pursuit of mastering one of basketball’s most electrifying skills. Over the past 12 years, he has established himself as one of Europe’s premier professional dunkers, competing around the world and continually raising the standard above the rim.
Standing 6 feet tall with a reported 48-inch vertical leap, Henry has proven that size is no substitute for explosiveness, technique, and creativity. His signature creation, The Royal Flush, showcases the power, style, and precision that define his performances. Even after years of competing, he continues chasing new challenges, with the Lob J-Rich Crown remaining one of the few dunks still on his personal checklist.
Henry describes his dunking style in two words: high voltage. To him, a great dunk is the perfect combination of jumping ability, technique, and power.
Now, Henry enters Dunkman with the opportunity he has spent his career waiting for. As one of the first athletes to compete in a professional dunking league, he sees the moment as the realization of a longtime vision. Success, in his eyes, means proving himself against the world’s best while earning recognition as the king of the sport.
When his career is over, Joel Henry wants to be remembered as one of the greatest dunkers to ever step onto the court. More than championships, he hopes people remember the fearless competitor who elevated the sport and inspired others to chase greatness. Above all, he wants fans to remember one simple truth: Joel Henry is different.
